Did you know that a child can receive up to half of the parent’s full retirement or disability benefit.
The child must be unmarried.
The child must be younger than age 18.
Age over 18 and under 19 and a full-time student (nohigher than grade 12) can continue benefits
The child can be over age 18 or older if they have a disability that began before age 22.
Children, disabled or not, of adoptive parent or stepparent can also receive social security benefits.
