Yesterday, March 25, 2024, I had the opportunity to be a guest at an investor symposium hosted by six of the largest investment managers in the world. Names like PIMCO, JP Morgan and more attended and shared powerful presentations on the markets, the US Economy and more. It was very educational and helped me greatly in evaluating the economy, my client positions, and more. I truly enjoy these types of opportunities to hear from some of the smartest people in my business. I particularly appreciate all the different views from some of the smartest investment companies in the world. These events present an opportunity for me to learn what I may be missing and incorporate that new knowledge into my process.
The largest takeaways:
1. None of the companies see a recession in the near future.
2. All are bullish on the equity markets, and some have never been more bullish.
3. There is a divergence on when The Federal Reserve will reduce rates, but all are confident that it will happen.
This is the second such event that I have attended in the past week. Last week I spent 1.5 days in Boston, Mass at a event with over 400 attendees, hosted by Private Advisor Group, a company that I affiliated with in addition to LPL. There were forty-plus investment companies in attendance at this conference. There were various events that I attended to better educate myself. The most intriguing presentation of the conference was by one of the two divers that helped save the soccer team trapped in the cave in Thailand in 2018. Wow, what a powerful presentation on preservation, perseverance, the will to live as well as the dedication to save and help others in light of tremendous personal risk. It was very motivating and inspirational.
